PMIU-PESRP has issued the official notification on 11th March, 2021 in connection with activation of commercial bank accounts of Government Schools in HBL Punjab.
Bank Accounts of Govt Schools in HBL Punjab 2021
The provision of Non Salary Budget (NSB) funds to Government Schools in Punjab is an important initiative of Government of the Punjab. These funds enable Schools to meet their operating expenditures like payment of electricity bills, managing school security and cleanliness, provision of stationary, payment to part time teachers etc.
The NSB funds for the first two quarters of FY 2020 21 have been transferred to all District Education Authorities of Punjab for further transfer of these funds into the commercial bank accounts of Schools. However, it has been reported on the Prime Minister’s Performance Delivery Unit that a number of School bank accounts related to the NSB funds have been inactivated in various branches of HBL in Punjab.

The situation has led to the blockage of NSB funds in the Districts as these funds could not be credited in the School Accounts due to inactivation of schools. The School Teachers are making their best efforts to activate these accounts but the support from the bank is not favorable to resolve this issue It is, therefore, once again requested that the special instructions may be issued to all the respective banks in the Punjab to re-activate the respective School council NSB bank accounts as soon as possible.
