All Employees Shall be Paid for Salaries during CoronaVirus Lockdown in Sindh

Government of Sindh, Home Department has issued the official Notification letter on 23rd March, 2020 in connection with all employees shall be paid for salaries during CoronaVirus lockdown in Sindh.

No: SO(Jud-1)HD/8-1(04)/2020-Corona: In exercise of powers under Section 3(1) of the Sindh Epidemic Diseases Act 2014 (The Sindh Act VIII of 2015) and in continuation of earlier order of even number dated 22nd March, 2020 and further in exercise of power under Section 30) of the said Act and applicable Labor Laws the Government of Sindh hereby directs that during the said ban period no worker shall be laid off and all kinds of workers shall be paid salaries / remunerations wages in full by their respective employers. The period of closure may be considered by the employers as paid leave.

The Government of Sindh in exercise of powers under section 3(I) of the said Act empowers Secretary and Director Labor & HR Department to issue any further orders, directions or notices for the implementation of this order in letter and spirit.

Any person disobeying any direction or order issued under this Order or any person facilitating, in any manner, the defiance of this order issued under the Sindh Epidemic Diseases Act 2014 shall be deemed to have committed an offence punishable under section 188 of the Pakistan Penal code as provided under Section 4 of the said Act as well as applicable Labors Laws.

Director and Joint Directors of Labor & HR Department are empowered under Section (I) of the said Act to take any legal action on any contravention of this order or the directions/orders/notices issued pursuant to this order, under the relevant provisions of laws including action under Section 188 of Pakistan Penal Code and applicable labor laws.
