Muhammad Hamza Shafqat PAS District Magistrate, Islamabad Capital Territory has issue the official Notification letter on 13th February, 2020 in connection with ban on soft drinks in Islamabad educational institutions 2020.
Whereas, it has been brought to my notice that fizzy/ sugary and soft drinks are being sold in the canteen/ cafes of educational institutes without observing the hygienic requirements. These items are injurious to health of children. Therefore, action has required the sale of these drinks within the premises of institutes.
And Whereas, in my opinion, there are sufficient grounds for proceeding u/s 144 Cr. PC, 1898 and immediate prevention is desirable and the directions hereinafter appearing are necessary in order to prevent danger to human life and the safety of the general public.
Now, therefore, I Muhammad Hamza Shafqaat, PAS, District Magistrate, Islamabad in exercise of powers conferred on me under Section 144 Cr.PC 1898 do hereby order that no person shall sell fizzy/ sugary and soft drinks within the boundaries of any educational institute whether it is public, private or Madrissa in the territory of federal capital.
This order shall come into force with immediate effect and shall remain n force for a period of Two Months.
NOTWITHSTANDING the expiry of this order, everything done, action taken, obligation, liability, penalty or punishment incurred, investigations, enquiry or proceedings pending against offenders in the court of magistrate having powers under the Code of Criminal Procedure, 1898 and punishment in respect of this order shall be continued or launched as if this order has not expired.
This order shall be given wide publicity by the publication in the official gazette and the local newspapers and through all other media of publicity and by affixing copies thereof in the notice board if the Sub-Divisional Courts, Tehsil, Office, Police Stations and other conspicuous places in the Islamabad Capital Territory, Islamabad.
