Clarification regarding Non-Practicing Allowance for Doctors

Government of the Punjab, Finance Department has issued the official Notification letter on 15 October, 2019 regarding Clarification regarding Non-Practicing Allowance for doctors.

Will the Section Officer (B&A), Government of the Punjab, Primary & Secondary Healthcare Department kindly refer to his No.SO (B&A) 1-69/2019, dated 30.06.2019 on the subject noted above?

The case has been examined. Finance Department endorses the view of Primary & Secondary Healthcare Department that “Health Sector Allowance” and Practice Compensatory Allowance” are separate allowances. If a doctor submits affidavit that he is not practicing. He may be allowed for “Non-Practicing Allowance”. Further, if a doctor is working in a periphery and doing practice there, he is eligible for “Practice Compensatory Allowance”.
