Directorate of Public Instruction (S.E) Punjab, Lahore has issued the official Notification letter on 10th January, 2020 in connection with control over the supply of narcotics to children/students in educational institutions pursuant to writ petition No. 237588/2018 titled shiekh asim farooq vs federation of Pakistan.
Refer to the subject noted above and to state that in the meeting held on 16-12-2019 under the Chairmanship of Chief Secretary, Punjab, it was inter all decided that P&SH Department shall extend necessary cooperation to School Education and Higher Education Departments for preparing general
Health profile of the students.
In this regard, the P&SH Department is required to provide service of Psychiatrists to visit different education institutions and fill in general health profiles of the students.
You are directed to state that to implement the above decision, the Competent Authority has approved that CEOs(DEA) of School Education Department may prepare suitable schedule of their respective schools for visit of Psychiatrist and refer the case to the concerned CEO District Health Authority for arrangement of Psychiatrists accordingly. The whole exercise must be completed before 31-3-2020.
You are further directed forward comments/ report to the Section Officer (Acad), Govt. of the Punjab, School Education Department, Lahore, as well as to this directorate within three days positively for further course of action.
