- Keep roof drains clean to avoid water accumulation on roofs
- Don’t swim or bathe in rivers or flood drains in rainy season
- Don’t throw garbage in flood drains or sewers
- Keep roofs clean, get them repaired and ensure proper drainage
- Follow necessary precautions to avoid waterborne diseases
- Keep children away from electrical wires and poles
- Stay informed about weather updates
- In rainy season, shift your residence and valuables from basements to upper stories
- Don’t touch soaked electrical instruments or broken wires lying on ground
- People living in low lying areas near rivers, flood drains and canals must shift to safer places during rainy season
Note: Residents of hilly areas must take special precautions to stay safe during flash flooding.
