Office of the Accountant General Punjab, Lahore has issued the official Notification letter on 23rd May, 2000 in connection with Family Pension to Widower After Death of Female Govt Employee [Updated on 15th February, 2020].

A reference was made to the Govt of the Punjab, Finance Department, Lahore for clarification the point weather widower, who had Co-Wives before the death of his wife, viz the death of the deceased Govt servant is eligible for family pension and the condition of remarriage is not applicable in such case.
It has been clarified by the Govt of the Punjab, Finance Department, Lahore vide latter No. FD.SR-III-4-114/89 dated 3-2-2000 as under:
The widower having two or more wives and one or more of them who are in Govt service, will be entitled to family pension of his first deceased wife for life or until remarriage.

If the widower is an earning hand it makes no difference and his is entitled to family pension for life or until re-marriage. You are requested to bring into the notice of all concerns such clarification and to act accordingly.
