The Caretaker Religious Affairs Minister, Aneeq Ahmed, has revealed that the Hajj policy for 2024 is ready and will seek approval from the cabinet within the next 10 days.
Under the new Hajj policy 2024 for pilgrims will be experience a shorter, more streamlined journey, including a 40-days Hajj.
Pakistani pilgrims will now have a much easier time keeping track of their belongings. They will receive two suitcases with unique colors and designs, each adorned with a QR code. These QR codes will contain important information such as the pilgrims’ names, passport numbers, addresses, and school details.
Minister Ahmed also announced a groundbreaking development: Hajj pilgrims will be able to stay connected with their families in Pakistan throughout their journey. They will receive a special mobile package, made possible through an agreement with a Saudi Arabian mobile phone company. This package, priced at Rs4,000, will allow pilgrims to make audio and video calls, ensuring they can communicate freely.

The Ministry of Religious Affairs had previously introduced the concept of a shorter Hajj, which has been met with positive responses. The duration of the Hajj will be between 18 to 20 days, with the exact length being chosen by the pilgrims themselves, ranging from 18 to 30 days.
In addition to these changes, the Saudi government has kindly offered official residences to Pakistani pilgrims. Minister Aniq Ahmad emphasized that the 2024 Hajj policy prioritizes the safety and convenience of the pilgrims.
Reflecting on past issues caused by delays in the Hajj policy, the minister highlighted that the new policy will significantly reduce the duration of the Hajj journey, making it more efficient and manageable.

Every pilgrim will receive two suitcases, and in case of loss, these can be easily tracked using the QR codes. With the provision of mobile phone SIM cards for 45 days, pilgrims can stay connected via video calls. A special mobile package designed for the pilgrimage will further enhance communication during this sacred journey.
