The Higher Education Commission has issued the official notification on 1st November 2021 in connection with HEC 2-Year BA/BSc Degree Program Transition As Associate Degree Notification 2021. According to the decision of HEC, all the BA/BSc degree holders who are still studying are not eligible to get recognition and attestation.
HEC Notification About BA/BSc Degree Program 2021
In pursuance of the Notification # 15 54/A&C/2019/HEC/691 dated Thursday the July 11, 2019, regarding transition from two-year BA/BSc Programs to Associate Degree Programs; Phasing out of MA/MSc Programs, (with extended timeline of March 31, 2021, due to Covid-19), most of the Higher Education Institutions (HEIS) transitioned to the Associate Degree regime. However, a few HEls admitted students in the phased-out BA/BSc programs beyond the prescribed deadline. As a result, such degrees don’t hold the entitlement to claim recognition and attestation by the Higher Education Commission.
Foregoing in view and considering disruptions caused by the Covid-19 pandemic, and to protect the educational career of the students enrolled in such programs, following approval of the Commission, one-time waiver is granted to the BA/BSc degree holders enrolled in the Academic Year 2019. Accordingly, the timeline for admissions in MA/MSc programs, on the basis of BA/BSc, is adjusted up till June 30, 2022. The students having 14 years of education (BA/BSc/Associate Degree or equivalent) can also take admission in 5th Semester of a relevant BS/equivalent degree program. To overcome the academic deficiencies of such students, bridging courses (15-18 credit hours) may be decided and offered by the admitting university.
