HEC National International University Competition 2021

Higher Education Commission of Pakistan has announced HEC National International University Competition 2021. HEC issued thematic competitions for university students to celebrate independence day in Pakistan with zeal and enthusiasm. All students from recognized universities/degree awarding institutions are encouraged to participate. Students can send their entries to the following address before 15th September 2021. The list of following categories of competitions are included in the HEC competition;

If you are interested in participating in the HEC poetry, painting, and video competition, the university student will win many cash prizes. The winner of each category will be awarded cash prizes. The first cash prize is Rs. 100,000, the Second cash prize is Rs. 75,000, and the Third cash prize is Rs. 50,000.

HEC Painting Competition:

‘Green Palettes’ Painting Competition
to
Commemorate Pakistan’s Independence Day 2021
Theme: Hum Zinda Qoum Hain

Purpose: The ‘Green Palettes’ Contest is for University students interested in revealing their artistic talents through fine art. This contest is designed to encourage the young generation to promote Pakistan Independence Day in an artistic form.

Eligibility:

1. Green Palettes is open to all enrolled students of any Pakistani University.
2. 2D and 3D work are eligible.
3. Art/painting must be your own original concept and not a copy of anyone else’s material or copyrighted material.
4. The student only submit his / her own artwork that he / she has personally created.
5. If there is any question about authenticity; Higher Education Commission reserves the right to demand proof of authorship…. if it is not then entry will be disqualified.

General Rules:

1. Canvas size 20×30 inches
2. Mediums of painting: oil paints, watercolors, acrylic paints, and pastels (oil and chalk pastels)
3. Experimental and mixed techniques are welcome.
4. One student should not submit more than one piece of art
5. Student should submit undertaking of originality of work, duly signed and stamped by the Director Student Affairs/ Registrar office.

Criteria for Judging:

1. Interpretation and the clarity of the theme.
2. Creativity, uniqueness, and originality of the depicted theme.
3. Quality of artistic composition and overall design based on the theme.
4. Color and tone. Balance of image within its space.
5. Overall impression of the art. What is the effect of the artwork in general and as a whole?
6. Overall, does the artwork stand on its own as a complete and outstanding work of art?

HEC Video Competition:

Short Video Competition

Theme: Pakistan-Aik Jazba Aik Junoon

Entry Requirements

• Competition is open to all students enrolled in Higher Education Commission (HEC) recognized universities.
• Videos may be in English/Urdu language or have no dialogue at all.
• Only one entry per person is allowed.
• Entries must correspond to the competition theme.

Rules of Short Video Competition

• Video duration should not exceed 120 seconds (two minutes). Video exceeding this time limit are liable to be rejected.
• Video should have at least Full High Definition (HD) quality / 1080p.
• The Video format should be supported by all media players.
• Entries must be based on original work and should not have been submitted / presented previously to any forum.
• Ensure that all content in the video (including footage, music, images etc.) is participant’s own. If participant include any copyrighted or trademarked content, he/she must be able to provide written permission for its use. Entries containing any unauthorized content will be disqualified.
• Submitted entries must not have any aspect undermining honour of the country and/or affecting any segment of the society.
• The participants grant the HEC the non-exclusive rights to screen (non-commercial) their video / entry on medium of its choice (Social Media etc.).

Participant should submit undertaking of originality of work, duly signed and stamped by the Director Student Affairs/ Registrar office.

HEC English Poetry Competition:

Poetry Competition (English)
to
Commemorate Pakistan’s Independence Day 2021
Theme: Pakistan- A Promising Future

Entry Requirements:

• Entries must follow the competition theme.
• Competition is open to all students enrolled in HEC recognized universities.
• Allowed Poetic Forms: Stanzaic, Hiku & Sonnet.
• Participants should submit undertaking of originality of work, duly signed and stamped by the Director Student Affairs (specimen attached).
• Entries must be original, individual work and not previously published anywhere in any form.

Criteria for Judging:

• Relevance to the theme 50%
• Creativity/Style and Originality 30%
• Coherence of form and structure (harmony of words, presentation) 10%
• Clarity of imagery and language 10%

The decision of Jury will be final.

Only one page of poetry (250 words) per person should be emailed to the following email: independence.painting@hec.gov.pk.

The original piece of poetry is to be sent through courier on the following address:

HEC Urdu Poetry Competition:

The Urdu poetry can be send in Gazal, Rubai Azad and Nazam. The poetry should be in 10-12 phrases of them only. All entries must follow the competition theme.
