Embassy of Japan, Pakistan Public Affairs Section has issued the official announcement on 6th January, 2020 in connection with Japanese Government MEXT scholarship 2020 teacher training students.

We are pleased to inform you that the Government of Japan is offering a scholarship to Pakistani teachers who wish to conduct research on school education under the Monbukagakusho (Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology, Government of Japan: MEXT) Scholarship Program (Teacher-Training Students) for the fiscal year 2020.
A grantee is classified as a non-degree student, but he/she will get a certificate after completing the required course at the university in Japan. This program is not designed for those who wish to enter Bachelor’s Master’s or Doctor’s degree courses. The candidate must meet the following requirements.
1). Age: Applicants must be under 35 years of age as of 1st April, 2020. (i.e. born on and after the 2nd of April 1985)
2). Educational Qualifications: Applicant must have graduated from a university or a teacher-training school and have worked as a teacher of an elementary school or secondary educational institute or a teachers-training school in his/her home country for at least five years in total, as of 1st October, 2020.
3). Individual Criteria: Applicants must be intellectually and psychologically capable of spending an eighteen month period in an international atmosphere in a society with a culture very different from that of Pakistan. Also, applicants must be willing to learn Japanese language and receive research guidance in Japanese, because many universities conduct courses only in Japanese. The courses will start in October 2020.
Kindly circulate this information the teachers of your institution. Interested candidates are to apply directly to the Embassy of Japan in Pakistan no later than 17th January, 2020.

2). A recommendation letter (Proscribed)(Given on Japan Embassy’s website)
These documents must be labeled as “.Japanese Government MEXT Scholarship 2020 Teacher Training Students” and sent to the Public Affairs Section, Embassy of Japan, Diplomatic Enclave I, Islamabad. Only short listed candidates will be contacted for the written test at the Embassy.
