The Directorate General Local Govt and Community Dev. Punjab Lahore has issued the latest notification on 29th July 2022 in connection with Khatam-e-Nabuwat in Nikah Nama implementation status of amendments in the west Pakistan rules under the muslim family laws ordinance 1961.
Amendment Regarding Oath of Khatam-e-Nabuwat in Nikah Nama
Please refer to this office endorsement No. LG&CDIAD(T)/43/2020(Circular) dated 22.03.2022 and subsequent letter No. LG&CD/AD(T)/43/2020 (Circular) dated 12.05.2022 regarding the subject cited above wherein it was requested to furnish implementation status of the subject amendments including oath regarding Khatam-e-Nabuwat. However, the requisite information is still awaited.
It has now been reported that proper implementation of the said amendments is not being made. It has also been reported that old Nikah Nama is still being used in Union Councils and Municipal Committees dealing with the matters of marriage registration.
Foregoing in view, I am directed to request you to ensure implementation of the said amendment regarding oath of Khatam-e-Nabuwat in the true letter and spirit.
Moreover, amended Nikah Registers must be used in all Registration Sites. All subordinate officers and relevant registration sites i.e Union Councils and Municipal Committees may be instructed accordingly.
A certificate regarding 100% implementation of said amendments must be furnished regarding your respective divisions within one day till 30.07.2022 on the Email: ID adcd.lgcdpunjab@gmail.com without fail.
New Nikah Nama Included Khatam-e-Nabuwat Amendment in Family Laws
The Government of Punjab, Local Government and Community Development Department has issued b the notification on 17th March 2022 in connection with New Nikah Nama Included Khatam-e-Nabuwat Amendment in Family Laws 1961.
No.SOR(LG)38-22/2017.- In exercise of the powers conferred under section 11 of the Muslim Family Laws Ordinance, 1961 (VIII of 1961), Governor of the Punjab is pleased to make the following amendments in the West Pakistan Rules under the Muslim Family Laws Ordinance, 1961, with immediate effect:
AMENDMENTS:
In the West Pakistan Rules under the Muslim Family Laws Ordinance, 1961:
- For the words “West Pakistan”, wherever appearing, the words “the Punjab” shall be substituted.
- In rule 1, for the words “West Pakistan Rules under the Muslim Family Laws Ordinance”, the words “Punjab Muslim Family Rules” shall be substituted.
- In rule 2: (a) in clause (c), the word “and” appearing at the end shall be omitted; and (b) after clause (c), the following clause (ca) shall be inserted: “(ca) “rules” means the Punjab Muslim Family Rules, 1961; and”.
- In Form II, after Sr. No. (25), the following Sr. No.(26) shall be inserted: “(26)
