Latest Flood Warning Pakistan 2020

Provincial Disaster Management Authority, Punjab (PDMA) has issued the official Notification letter on 2nd March, 2020 in connection with latest flood warning Pakistan 2020.

Met Office has Informed that strong westerly weather system is likely to enter upper parts of the country on Wednesday and likely to grip upper and central parts on Thursday and persist till Saturday. Under the Influence of this weather system:

¤ Widespread rain with wind thunderstorm is expected in Rawalpindi, Attock, Jhelum, Chakwal, Mianwali, Sargodha, Khusab, Bhakkar, Faisalabad, Jhang, Toba Tek Singh, Sheikhupura, Lahore, Gujranwala, Sialkot, Gujrat, Hafizabad and Narowal districts from Wednesday to Saturday.

¤ Rain with dust-thunderstorm is also expected in Dera Ghazi Khan, Multan, Khanewal, Sahiwal,Okara, Bahawalpur, Bahawalnagar, Rahim Yar khan, districts during Wednesday to Thursday. Dust raising winds are expected in lower Sindh including Karachi on Thursday and Friday.

¤ Heavy rain with Intermittent thundershowers (with hailstorm) is also expected in Rawalpindi, Attock, Chakwal, Jhelum, Gujranwala, Lahore, Faisalabad and Sargodha on Thursday and Friday.

¤ Possibility of urban flooding cannot be ruled out in Rawalpindi, Gujranwala, Faisalabad,Sargodha and Lahore during the period.

¤  Heavy rainfall may generate flash flooding and may trigger landslides in the vulnerable areas of Rawalpindi during the period.

It is requested that all concerned maybe Informed to take necessary precautionary measures against latest flood warning Pakistan at vulnerable areas to avoid any loss of life/damage to Public as well as private property under Intimation to PDMA, Punjab.
