Maternity and Paternity Leave Rules Punjab

Government of the Punjab, Finance Department has issued the official Notification letter on 30th October, 2012 in connection with maternity and paternity leave with full pay amendment according to the revised leave rules 1981.

No.FD.SR.II-9-107/2012: In exercise of the powers conferred under Section 23 of the Punjab Civil Servants Act, 1974 (VIII of 1974), Governor of the Punjab is pleased to direct that in the Revised Leave Rules, 1981, the following amendments shall be made:

Maternity Leave Rules – Amendments

(a). for sub-rule (1), the following shall be substituted:

(1). “A female civil servant may, for the maximum period of ninety (90) days, be granted maternity leave with full pay outside her leave account at any time, immediately before or after the birth of a child and she shall not be required to provide fitness certificate for purposes of joining duties after such leave.”

Paternity Leave Rules – Amendments

(b). after sub-rule (7), the following sub-rule (8) shall be inserted:

(8). “A male civil servant may, for a maximum period of seven (7) days, be granted paternity leave on full pay outside his leave account on or immediately before the birth of his child”.

Provided that such leave shall be admissible only for two times during the entire service.
