Government of the Pakistan, Ministry of Finance, Revenue, Economics Affairs (Economic Affairs Division) has issued the Official Notification Letter on 26th August, 2019 in the matter of MEXT Scholarship Japan 2020 for Pakistan Students.
Japanese Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (MEXT) has offered the subject scholarship program in the field of “school of Government” schedule to be held w.e.f. October 2020 to September 2021 in Japan. All concerned Ministry / Division / Departments / are requested to send nomination of a suitable officer fulfilling the criteria to the undersigned by 20-9-2019. Applicants must submit three (3) copies of Application Form, essays, Photographs, University Graduate / Degree Certificates, Certificate of English Proficiency, recommendation Letter, Surety Bond, Undertaking, CNIC, Passport and FTC Performa.
MEXT Scholarship Objective
The YLP aims to contribute to cultivate future national leaders in Asian and other countries, moreover, to contribute to establish friendly relationship among various countries and to improve policy planning activities by forming a network among national leaders through deepening their understanding of Japan.
MEXT Scholarship Eligibility Criteria
The applicant should;
i). Be young public administrators and Government officials who are expected to play active roles in future as national leaders
ii). Be at least 3 years of full time work experience in total as of October 1st 2020 in public administration (Preferably 5 years or more)
iii). Be under 40 years of age as on 1st October, 2020
iv). Be a Bachelor Degree holder or equivalent, from a recognized / accredited University or College and have achieved excellent academic performance
v). Be proficient in English (with a TOEFIL-iBT score of 79, TOEFL-BPT score of 550, IELTS 6.0 or equivalent
vi). Be in good health, both physically and mentally to participate in the program
vii). Not be a Military personnel or military civilian employees

In case of selection of the officer the concerned Ministries / Divisions and Departments are requested to ensure timely relieving of officer alongwith NOC. Nomination of contractual employees will not be entertained.
Government of the Punjab Planning & Development Board Lahore has issued the official Notification letter on 29th August, 2019 in the matter of Japanese Government (MEXT) Scholarship for the Year 2020, Young Leaders Programme (YLP) Student (School of Government) from October 2020 to September 2021 in Japan.
I am directed to refer to the subject noted above and to forward herewith details in respect of the above mentioned training course with the request that panel of suitable and eligible candidates may be recommended after getting approval of competent authority of your Department.
The following documents In respect of nominees may be sent to this Department for placing the ease before the Provincial Special Selection Board (PSSB):-
- F.T Forms – (2 copies)
- ACRs position, duly attested for the last three years. – (2 copies)
- Bio-Data of the nominees duly attested. – (2 copies)
- Justification / Relevancy of the officer(s) – (2 copies)
- Certificate that:
- The nominees is/are regular employee.
- No Department/Anti-Corruption inquiry is pending against the nominees,
- Approval of Competent Authority has been obtained in this case.
- He/They does/do not stand nominated against any other foreign training facility. Result of which is still awaited.
- No extension would be taken/asked for in the training period of the nominees.
Recommendations from your Department may be sent to this Department before 13.9.2019 positively.
Government of the Punjab School Education Department has issued the employee Notification letter on 4 September, 2019 in the matter of of Japanese Government (MEXT) Scholarship for the Year 2020, Young Leaders Programme (YLP) Student (School of Government) from October 2020 to September 2021 in Japan.
Kindly find enclosed herewith copy of letter No. 1(44)FT/2019 dated 29-8-2019 alongwith its enclosure received from Ms. Madiha Ashraf, Section Officer (I&AF), Government of the Punjab, Planning & Development Board, Lahore, for nomination / further necessary action.
