The Punjab Government has finally issued the Muharram Holidays Notification 2023 by the General Administration Regulation Wing on 26th July 2023. According to the notification, all the Government Departments of Punjab and also throughout Pakistan will observe Public holidays on 9th Muharram (Friday 28th July 2023) and 10th Muharram (Saturday 29th July 2023).
All the mobile phone services Zong, Jazz, Ufone, Telenor will be suspended during 9th and 10th Muharram. The public gatherings in any specific area is strictly prohibited for security reason. The Government can impose Section-144 to stop processions. The specific areas or roads will be closed for safety of Juloos.
Public Holidays on Moharram 2023 Notification
The Punjab Government has published the press release on 2th July 2023 for the implementation all the public offices in Punjab. No.SOW-I(S&GAD)1-4/2018(P-III): It is notified for general information that Government of Punjab shall observe 28th & 29th July, 2023 (Friday & Saturday) as public holidays on the occasion of Ashura (9th & 10th Moharram 1445 AH).
The above Press Release may be published in all major English and Urdu Dailies both at National and Regional levels and be given wide publicity through electronic media.
Muharram-ul-Haram Holidays 2023 Schedule
All the employees or Labours working throughout Pakistan and especially in Punjab are informed that all the Public and Private offices will be closed on 9th and 10th Muharram in Pakistan for the occasion of Ashura.
In the current year, we will observe Muharram holidays on 28th July 2023 (Friday) and 29th July 2023 (Saturday) but Sunday 230th July 2023 will be also holiday. The following schedule will be activate for all public and private offices, Banks, Departments;

All the Government offices in Punjab will remain closed on 9th and 10th Muharram for celebration of Ashura 2023. If you will face disconnection of Mobile SIMs then it is made by the Government of Pakistan due to security and safety purposes.
