NEPRA Approves 3.28 Rupee Increase in Electricity Prices

In Islamabad, the National Electric Power Regulatory Authority, also known as NEPRA, has given the green light for an increase in electricity prices. This means that the cost of electricity will go up by 3 rupees and 28 paise.

NEPRA decided to raise the electricity rates. They officially announced this increase, explaining that it’s related to a financial adjustment for the fourth quarter of the 2022-2023 fiscal year. This means that consumers will need to pay more for electricity over the next six months, adding up to a total burden of 159 billion rupees.

This price adjustment will affect not only regular electricity consumers but also those who use K Electric services. The increased rates will be applicable from October 2023 to March 2024. However, it’s important to note that these changes will only come into effect once the federal government gives its approval.
