Notification of Collection of Needy, Poor & Rational Distribution of Ration Hampers

Office of the Deputy Commissioner Bahawalpur has issued the official circular letter on 30th March, 2020 in connection with notification of collection of needy, poor & rational distribution of Ration hampers.

In the wake of ongoing outbreak of CoronaVirus and current lockdown situation there is an imminent threat that a large number of population will be under severe economic and social pressure o make their ends meet. There are number of agencies, NGOs, Volunteer groups, associations and organizations working to supply the subsistence for poor and needy households.

In order to streamline the working on the ground and synergize the efforts of different factions, the Assistant Commissioners of the respective tehsils shall notify the committees comprising of the following member:-

1. Assistant Education Officer/Head,aster of some nearby school (Member)
2. Notable person/social worker/activist of the same union council (Member)
3. Secretary Union Council (Member)
4. Numberdar (Member)
5. One Police Person (Member)
6. One Army Official (Member)

These committees shall:-

• Register the data of all such needy people whose lives have been affected by the ongoing crises/lockdown situation. In the limits of their Union Councils.
• Shall make an independent decision on how much ration is required for a needy household for a period of one month, at least.
• Shall register all efforts already being done by the local community/social activists in the limits of their Union Council.
• Shall help the District Administration for the rational distribution of the ration/food hampers according to their data.
