In 1971 Indo-Pak war, Pakistan Navy Submarine HANGOR sunk an Indian Navy Frigate KHUKRI in Kathiawar sector of Arabian Sea and also shot another Indian Navy Ship KIRPAN, crippled and sent it out of action. PNS/M HANGOR holds the distinction of being the first submarine to achieve a kill since WWII.

Pakistan Navy is celebrating 48th Hangor Day on 9th December, 2019 , a remarkable saga of exceptional bravery, sinking of indian Navy ship Khukri by Pakistan Navy submarine Hangor.
