Government of the Punjab, School Education Department (Monitoring Wing) has issued the official Notification letter on 24th January, 2020 in connection with report regarding panic button systems on phone for educational institutions in Punjab.

Kindly find attached the copy or Special Report received vide No. AddI.Secy(L&O)/CMO/53/2018-1116 dated 17-01-2020, from SSP (Law & Order) to Chief Minister, Chief Minister’s Office Punjab, Lahore, on the subject.

It is to inform you that, as per report of Special Branch, the field staff checked (A & A+ categories) of Educational Institutions during January, 2020 with the objective to examine the effectiveness of the present security arrangements in schools. It revealed that panic buttons of 531 out of 5724 Institutions (9.28%) were not active.

You are, therefore, requested to ensure extreme vigilance and heightened security measures at all levels, as per SOPs issued by Home Department. You are further requested to keep close liaison with the respective District Focal Person of Special Branch, in order to remove / dispose of every observation relating to Schools so as to avoid repetition of observations in subsequent special reports.

Action taken in this regard must be communicated to this office through email at ddm.cmmf@gmail.com within TWO DAYS positively for onward submission/information of the high-ups.
