Passenger Trains After Lockdown Pakistan Railway

Pakistan Railway temporarily starting 15 Passenger trains after lockdown opening from 10th May, 2020. Pakistan Railways Headquarters Office Lahore has issued the official notification letter on 5th May, 2020.


Pakistan Railway Temporarily Starting Trains: 10th May, 2020


Pakistan Railways is considering the restoration of passenger traffic operation temporarily w.e.f. 10th of the instant subject to the approval of the competent authority. To ensure the efficient, safe train operation; the proposed SOPs (attached) need to be implemented in their true letter and spirit. For this purpose availability of required stock and other relevant resources of operational requirements and passengers, amenities need to be ensured safe, complete, and available in all respect.


Proposed SOPs for Safe Operation of Passenger Trains


The booking of trains only will be carried out through online

To ensure social distancing, ticket booking service will be closed after 60% occupancy

Installation of Sanitizer Walk through gates on multiple stations

Passengers are allowed to enter inside the station before one hour of arrival of train

Family of passengers are not allowed to see off

The areas of entering unnecessary people will be closed upto 200 meters from Railway station

The essential staff of medical to ensure the social distancing will be deployed at necessary entrance points

Proposed SOPs for Safe Operation of Passenger Trains


Full-dress Rehearsal


It is further directed that a full-dress rehearsal in this context shall also be undertaken on 07-05-2020 to identify the effectiveness of the operational arrangements and identify the weaknesses if any, so as to enable all concerned to ensure complete rectification of the weaknesses and deficiencies prior to commencing operation of all the passenger trains after lockdown as per schedule.
