It is for the information of Government/Semi-Government and Private organizations hiring services of Engineers that only those individuals can be considered for appointment and/or promotion to posts that require incumbents to carry out Professional Engineering Works, as defined in PEC Act, who have obtained degree in the relevant discipline of Engineering from a PEC accredited program and are registered with Pakistan Engineering Council as Registered Engineer (RE) or Professional Engineer (PE).
Only PEC Registered Engineers Eligible For Govt/Semi-Govt and Private Jobs
Hiring of an individual for Professional Engineering Work without the above requisites amounts to violation of PEC Act, 1976, Section 27(A) which states that “No person shall, unless registered as a registered engineer or professional engineer, hold any post in an engineering organization where he has to perform professional engineering work”.
Moreover, it will also be violation of judgement passed by the hon’ble Supreme Court of Pakistan in C.P.No.78-K/2015 dated October 03, 2018; the relevant para is reproduced as under: “23. The net result of above discussion is that this petition fails.

It is dismissed and leave refused, however with note of caution that government shall not allow or permit any person to perform professional engineering work as defined in PEC Act, who does not possess accredited engineering qualification from accredited engineering institution and his name is not registered as a registered engineer or professional engineer under PEC Act.”
