Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority, Islamabad has issued the official Notification letter on 22nd November, 2019 in connection with PEMRA notification of Lahore High Court order for all satellite TV channel Licensees.

Please refer to the captioned petition filed before the honorable Lahore High Court, Lahore. The Honorable Lahore High Court, Lahore on November 22, 2019 after hearing all parties has directed as under:
…. 11. Mr. Tahir Farooq Tarar, Head Legal, PEMRA, present in the Court, shall ensure that no Television channel will make any coverage to the protest(s) being conducted on the Mall Road Red Zone and also notify all the Channels in accordance with Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority (Amendment) ACT, 2007 and the Electronic Media Code of Conduct, 2015 ….

In compliance to the above orders of the Honorable Lahore High Court, Lahore, all Satellite TV Channel Licensees are directed to ensure stoppage of media coverage of the protest(s) / protesters at the Mall Road Red Zone, Lahore. In case of defiance of the above Court orders,legal action shall be initiated in accordance with PEMRA laws. This issues with approval of the competent authority.
