The Office of the Deputy Airport Manager, Pakistan Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) Islamabad International Airport has issued the direction for the checking of Polio Vaccination for International Travel from Pakistan. According to the news report, the implementation has directed by NADRA department but it has issued the clarification that the direction had been issued by the Pakistan Civil Aviation through notification.
According to the notification details, every person who have planned an international travelling then they need to get Polio certification before 1 month from departure. It is very important to share that the expiry of polio vaccination certificate is around 1 year.
Polio Vaccination Card Importance for International Travelling 2023
The reference is made to your office letter No. F.8-4/AEP/AHD/2022 dated 17th June 2023 on the above cited subject.
It is informed that the international vaccination for Polio has advised at least 04 weeks Polio drops vaccination before flight departure.
In this regard, it is pertinent to mention here that Polio counter at the airport is providing Polio cards for “leftover” passengers only under One Window Facilitation Desk (OWFD). Previously, the counter used to provide Polio cards to the entire flight, but due to strict compliance on 04 weeks vaccination prior to travel, there is a shortage of Polio cards, making it impossible to facilitate all the passengers.
It is therefore, requested to all airlines / GHAS staff to inform the passengers, at the time of issuance of ticket, that they should obtain their Polio cards from their respective District Health Offices before arriving at the airport and mitigate any untoward incident.
