After 43 Years from 1977, Punjab Government has prepared its first Price Control Act 2020 of essential commodities . In the new act schedule, there is to include all essential commodities of the present time.
The law for price control of federal govt in 1977 is still in practice to control the price of essential commodities in Lahore and all over the Punjab, which is deprived from modern requisition just because of getting old.
After a long time of this old law for price control, Punjab Industries & Departments has prepared the draft of Punjab essential commodities Price Control Act, 2020.
In the new Act Schedule, there is to include all essential commodities along with mineral water, bread, wheat, battery items and sweets which were not included in the old law of Federal Government.
According to this law, The price inspector will be appointed for the first time in order to control the essential price of commodities. Who will have authority to cut challan ticket on the form of traffic warden.
Price Inspector will have power to lodge FIR against profiteering. While the Police will have authority to arrest without any warrant.
