Primary and Secondary Healthcare Department, Punjab Govt Covid-19 vaccination drive notification has been issued on 21st February, 2021. District Vaccine Management Committees were notified under respective Deputy Commissioners for monitoring, management and supervision of COVID-19 vaccination vide notification no. SO(EP&C)/108/2020 dated 29th December, 2020.

COVID-19 Vaccination has been initially started for frontline healthcare workers registered through public and private sector hospitals and laboratories. However, the uptake has been slow which requires immediate and effective supervision and monitoring through the District Vaccine Management Committees.

All Deputy Commissioners are required to actively monitor the vaccination drive in their respective districts and increase the uptake rate for timely completion of vaccination.
Furthermore, local media channels and social media platforms should be utilized for advocacy and awareness generation among the healthcare professionals and general public to do away with any misconceptions about the vaccine. Use of awareness messages through hoardings and streamers at prominent places in the city may also be used.
