Punjab Examination Commission, Lahore has issued the official notification regarding issuance of PEC Report Card 2021 for Grade-5th students.
As you are aware that under Assessment Policy Framework (APF)-20 19, the universal population-based examination for Grade- 5 was repealed and School-Based Assessment (SBA) for this grade was conducted in March 2020. The Punjab Examination Commission (PEC) supported the schools with a standardized item bank for its conduct, training was imparted to schools on SOPs, paper development, marking as per rubrics, and preparing report cards using a template provided by PEC. All the districts generated papers and were conducting assessment grade-5 when schools were closed due to pandemics.

Punjab Examination Commission in collaboration with PESP-III team also conducting a feedback survey and the survey shows that in most of the districts papers were conducted and marked by the teachers. The results of feedback survey was shared with the Commission overseeing PEC in its 19th meeting held on August 25, 2020 and commission recommended that “All the schools are required to issue report cards to students/parents with the marks and grades of papers conducted before the lockdown on 14th March, 2020 with the remarks “Promoted to the next higher class in the wake of Corona virus pandemic (Covid-19)”, as per School Education Department notification No. SO(A-1)1-31/2008 dated 10th June, 2020 (Copy Attached).
You are requested to share the recommendation of the Commission to the Schools to take appropriate action in this regard.
