Sindh Government, Transport and Mass Transit Department has issued the public Notification on 11th June, 2020 in connection with Public Transport SOPs.

It is to inform all concerned that the Government of Sindh has allowed the Intra-City / (Within District) Public Transport in the province of Sindh after the meeting with the representatives of various Public Transport Associations. The P.T.A unanimously agreed SOPs which were issued by the Transport and Mass Transit Department, Government of Sindh vide Letter dated 02.06.2020.
It is further informed that in case any vehicle is found violating of the SOPs, the action will be taken against the vehicle owners of Public Transport i.e. Buses, Mini Buses, Coaches etc. of the Intra-City / (Within District) Routes in Sindh.
Intra-City Transport SOPs
1. Cleaning and disinfecting surfaces of buses, buts terminals and waiting areas.
2. Observing social distancing during ticketing, boarding, travelling & alighting with minimum 3 ft. distance.
3. Wearing masks and hand gloves is mandatory for all the passengers, drivers and conductors.
4. Keep minimum baggage.
5. Ensuring the availability of masks and hand sanitizers is the responsibility of transporters in every bus.
6. Checking body temperature of every passenger including driver and conductor before boarding the bus, services.
7. Not allowing anyone with cough or fever to board the bus.

8. There should be fifty percent (50%) seating arrangement fur the passengers with reasonable distance among them.
9. Ensuring ventilation of air by opening windows / ventilators.
10. Using rear door for boarding and front door for alighting.
11. In case of single door bus then allow passenger to alight first and board later.
12. Sneezing or coughing into elbow or tissue papers.
13. installing disinfecting / spraying gates at boarding places.
14. Marking the location of parking bays of buses.
15. Crowd management via deployment of additional/necessary staff and ‘marking positions.
16. Ensuring availability of soaps / sanitizers in public areas / toilets.
17. The elderly and the sick should not be allowed in the lntra-City I (Within District) bus services.
18. Provide a cash drop box to the conductor.
19. Designated bus stops shall be used for boarding and alighting.
