Suspension of Academic Activities Due To Covid-19 During Spring 2021

The Islamia University of Bahawalpur has issued the official notification on 20th April, 2021 in connection with suspension of academic activities due to Covid-19 during spring 2021.

In pursuance of the decision taken in the meeting of Inter Provincial Ministers Conference (IPEMC) held on 18.04.2021, communicated by Higher Education Department, Government of the Punjab, Lahore vide letter No. SO(Admn) Misc./2020 dated 19.04.2021. & the meeting of the Deans’ Committee, Islamia University of Bahawalpur held on 20.04.2021 at 12.00 Noon, under the Chairmanship of Prof Dr. Muhammad Ashraf, Pro-Vice-Chancellor, the Islamia University of Bahawalpur, it is notified for the information and further necessary action of all concerning stakeholders that on-campus academic activities across all Campuses of the Islamia University of Bahawalpur including the sub campuses Rahimyar Khan and Bahawalnagar will be suspended w.e.f. 21.04.2021, on account of 3rd spike of Covid-19 Pandemic.

The faculty and students, however, shall observe online classes as per schedule. The students engaged in research/lab work & thesis at graduate and post graduate levels will continue their academic/research activities following the Covid-19 guidelines issued by the Higher Education Commission, Islamabad.

Also hostelites belonging to remote areas with internet issues may be allowed to stay in hostel(s) to provide the maximum ease to attend the classes only, on the recommendations of Chairpersons and Deans concerned. Staff engaged in teaching and non-teaching departments will be curtailed to only 50% attending the office at one time on alternate days.

The university shall “Insha Allah” re-open for physical classes w.e.f. 17.05.2021 after Eid-ul-Fittar holidays. This issued with the approval of the Competent Authority.
