University of the Punjab has issued the Notification on 9 August, 2019 in the matter of transition of 2 years BA, BSC and BCOM conventional degree programs to Associate Degree programs, on behalf of the Academic Council / Syndicate.
The Vice-Chancellor, in exercise of the powers vested in him under section 15(3) of the University of the Punjab Act. 1973 has been pleased to approve the recommendations of the committee made at us meeting held on 09-08-2019 regarding transition of 02-years BA, BSc and BCom conventional degree programs to Associate Degree programs, on behalf of the Academic Council/Syndicate.
1. The nomenclature of 02 years BA / BSc and B.Com degrees be changed as Associate Degree in Arts. Associate Degree in Science and Associate Degree in Commerce respectively for regular and private students.
2. Currently, there will be no change in course outlines/syllabi, Rules and Regulations. The course outlines / syllabi which have already been offered to BA / BSc and B.Com, students shall be offered to student of Associate Degree and the Slime will be notified by the University. The system of examination for Associate Degree shall be the same as previous one i.e. Annual and Supplementary examination systems.
3. The Committee shall further deliberate for changes in curriculum including examination system of Associate Degree in light of the guidelines given by the HEC.
