The FBR has clarified that the letter attributed to the Federal Board of Revenue regarding the extension in the date of submission of income tax returns is fake. The date will not be extended.
The date for filing income tax returns will not be further extended. All commercial banks will be open till 9 pm tonight for the convenience of taxpayers. The IRIS system has also been improved to make it easier to enter the maximum number of expected statements.
The FBR has directed all its subsidiaries to set up help desks in their offices to receive applications for extension of date for filing income tax returns.
