Government of Pakistan, Ministry of Human Rights has issued the official Notification letter in connection with Master, Mphil and PhD degrees in NADRA record for CNIC.
This Ministry is approached by some Professional Social Workers, holing Masters, M.Phil &. PhD Degrees in Social Work who are concerned over absence of “Social Work” from the list of professional degrees for CNICs requirement according to NADRA record.
As a result of this, thousands of professionals are being deprived of their right since they are missing in the record of notional database. Moreover, due to this, accuracy of the database is also compromised which requires immediate attention.
It is pertinent to mention here that Masters, M.Phil & PhD in “Social Work”” are HEC recognized degrees. In Pakistan, many leading universities including;
♦ University of the Punjab,
♦ University of Karachi,
♦ University of Balochistan,
♦ University of Peshawar,
♦ Federal Urdu University (Karachi)
♦ University of Sindh Jamshoro
♦ Kohat University of Science & Technology.
♦ University of Sargodha
♦ Islamia University Bahawalpur
And some other institutions offer various level degrees in Social Work. Moreover, many professionals with Social Work degrees arc serving the nation in various Ministries/Departments/Institutions/Organizations, including this Ministry.
In view of the above, it is requested that Masters, M.Phil & PhD Degrees in Social Work may kindly be included in the list of professional degrees in NADRA record, as per law, An early response, in this regard will be highly appreciated.
