PTA has advised to stop unwanted calls and SMS. Unwanted calls/messages can be disruptive, but there are steps you can take to minimize them.

Block Telemarketing Communication

  • Register your number on the Do Not Call Register (DNCR)
  • Type ‘reg‘ and SMS to 3627.
  • Contact concerned service provider if the problem still persists.
  • To allow telemarketing communication again. type ‘unreg‘ and SMS to 3627.

Block Spamming/Unsolicited Communication

Type spammer’s cell number, give a space, paste the received message and SMS* to 9000.

*SMS charges of 10 paisa (inclusive of taxes) apply for each SMS to prevent abuse of facility*

Block Obnoxious/unknown Calls and SMSs

Dial *420# (for Jazz, Telenor & Ufone subscribers) or 420 (for ZONG subscribers) For charges, please contact concerned service provider.

Remember to never give out personal information such as account numbers, passwords or any other information in response to unknown/unexpected calls & SMSs or if you are at all suspicious.

Report fraud SMS/calls to your service provider for blocking. If no response is received from service provider, report to Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) by dialing 0800-55055 or visit;
